The story of Motown is coming to Broadway with a book by Barry Gordy and the music that made Detroit famous.
Gordy is the focal point for the show which is being produced by Barry, Kevin McCollum (Rent, In the Heights) and Sony Music Chairman and CEO Doug Morris. Charles Randoph-White will direct.

MOTOWN will feature a book by Berry Gordy and music and lyrics from the Motown legendary catalog, featuring dozens of hit songs made famous by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Michael Jackson and The Jackson Five and many more.
MOTOWN is a gripping story about the protégés and stars of a uniquely talented musical family who, under Berry Gordy's guidance, began as 'the Sound of Young America' and went on to become some of the greatest superstars of all time.
The producers are currently doing a nationwide search for a single talented youngster who can take on three roles in the play, the pre-teen Barry Gordy, Little Stevie Wonder and the young Michael Jackson. Here, Barry Gordy discusses the part.
