Phaedra Parks may have been enjoying some fun in the sun off the coast of Mexico just last week, but so far this week is looking grim for the Real Housewives of Atlantastar.
A clerk for Judge Charles A. Pannell, Jr., who sentenced Apollo for his crimes, tellsRadarOnline.com that Phaedra’s hubby, Apollo Nida, has been sentenced to eight years in prison plus an additional five years on parole for fraud and identity theft. Apollo, who was present for the devastating sentence, must also pay restitution but the exact amount has yet to be determined. The father of two is expected to surrender himself into custody within the next four to six weeks to begin serving his sentence.
As we told you earlier this year, Apollo was charged with bank fraud and identity theft after it was discovered he allegedly created fake companies, which enabled him to access databases to find individuals to rip off. He then opened fake bank accounts under those real names and funneled stolen U.S. Treasury checks and auto loan proceeds into those accounts. As if that wasn’t enough, Mr. Nida also allegedly opened a fake auto dealership and applied for auto loans in the names of stolen identities.
Once his fraudulent ways were uncovered, Apollo began talks with prosecutors and entered a guilty plea back in May which laid the groundwork for his sentencing today, July 8. Since he struck a plea deal we don’t believe there’s any room for an appeal here, but when you’re married to a legal eagle such as Phaedra you never know what could happen.
Apollo has stayed upbeat in the days and months leading up to the sentencing, but he admitted back in May that he was most scared of leaving his young sons, Dylan, 1, and Ayden, 4. If you ask us, it sounds like Apollo got what he deserved, but we’re still saddened that his sons will go eight years without seeing their pops everyday.
